RE: tires
In my book the only reason not to get the Pilot Powers is consideration for how quickly they might wear out. If I get 4,000 miles out of the ones I just bought then Ill be happy, and I have read of some people getting more than that.
Im happy with mine.
Be careful if you consider some of those Michelins with the 2 compound technology. I think the Pilot Power 2CTs are race tire tread on the edges with a harder compound in the middle.
I think they make a pilot sport 2 compound tire that's close to a touring compound in the middle with a semi-race tread on the edges. I got tired of trying to decide which 2CT might be better so I just got the Pilot Powers and Im glad I did.

RE: tires
Let's see....I've got about 8k and 3 Trackdays on my regular PPs. NO PROBLEMS WITH GRIP WHATSOEVER. Now, my last 2 trackdays sucked major *****, but that was the rider NOT the TIRES. Add to that the fact it rained in the morning session of one of those days on a high speed track that I've never been to before......My next set will probably be Michelin PPs (not 2CT).
