I also have the 2cts with about 5k miles on them. My question is as the center of the tire wears/flattens out should I be lowering the tire pressure? Obviously Im not a canyon carver so I dont wear the "softer" part of the tread much. Any suggestion?

Sure you can...in doing so you will create more of a surface of tire to pavement thus using more of your dual compund around the edges! I run regular ole Pilot Powers and run 34/40 but you can go as low as say 32/36! Remember, always check/fill and set the pressure when the tires are cold (e.g in the morning before you ride)

Btw Mitch, how is the J24 CCTL holding up? Mine only has 1k on it and dosent show signs of going just yet (fingers crossed)

I have ridden on the Roadsmarts and had no problem with them. My mate does 30k miles per year and has used these tyres since they came out.

I had a PR2 on the back of my FireBlade and it was a good tyre. Just too expensive IMHO.

Any of the modern tyres will be more than good enough. I now have an Avon Storm Ultra 2 on the back, and it is very similar in performance terms to the PR2. I haven't worn it out yet so I don't know how long it will last but looks OK so far.
