Time for tires. Selection help please.
I need tires. I want good mileage from them, but I want decent traction as well. I've got dunlop sportmax on it right now, and I'm very satisfied, but they're pretty pricey, and i'm poor. I'm looking at Pirelli diablo strada, Michelin pilot power 2CT(also pricey), mich pilot road, the same dunlops, and another tire that I can't remember off the top of my head right now. I won't be doing knee scrapes or anything, but I want at least a little bit of agressive traction. Any suggestions? Other tires i might need to consider.

The pirelli's will word fine for what you are talking about. Rember they don't last forever so if you start need a more agresive tire the pirelli's will be smoked anyways. If you run another dunlop I would look at qualifiers they are a nice tire and think they must be coming out with a new one because I have been seeing them on sell. I pick up a set for 185. I normally run powers, but that price......

you need to keep your class of tires all the same...2CT are not in the same category as the stradas or you sportmax.
for those who think 2ct are it...try corsa III...
i personally feel pirellis are the best tires by far.
my choice is corsas for track or the supers (bling bling)...diablos for street, strada for tour.

I like the regular Diablos. Got a new set of them this summer at a good price (replaced the old Dunlop 208's) just for the kind of riding you're talking about: good mileage but like to get aggressive in the twisties. So far i think they're great, and they get better mileage than the Pilot Powers, as well as being just a bit cheaper, iirc.
