Thoughts on Pirelli Tires

RE: Thoughts on Pirelli Tires
it's all a matter of preference...they all stick well when in the same class. there are some tires that totally stink though, they tend to be geared more towards mileage though...but the new technology line are better.
if you do twists AND commute...and about 50/50...then i would go with M3s, Pilot Powers (not PP 2CT) and Pirelli Diablos. If you tend to do more commuting than twists and aren't so agro in the twists...then go with Diablo Stradas.
many riders like to complain that their tires stink and what not...when in reality, a better rider can do much more with the same tires. it's all about smoothness, cleaness and picking the right lines!

I've had a set of pirelli diablos and the rear lasted about 4-5k miles which included many hundreds of track miles. Best thing I liked about them was that they got up to temperature really quick.Turn in and grip was excellent, only noticed loss of grip as the tire tread was worn down almost to the wear indicator.Paid $240 for the set 3 yrs ago (when they first came out). Pic below is the rear tire right after track session at Gingerman Raceway which a track notorious for chewing up tires. I definitiely recommend them

funny how i thought my 207's were kick-*** and i was griding pegs all over the place onmy 00r6 but now i cant wait for the suckers to be used up on my F4i. i just don't trust em anymore. i'm gonna slap a set of PP's on my bike when the factory 207's are shagged.
