i would agree though, don't really need one on the bike. just remember that the little light on the right side of your gauge cluster is a rev-limiter indicator, not a shift light

Oh "shift indicator", I remember they used to put those in cars for people who didnt know how to drive a stick. If you really think you need to install a shift indicator you might want to reconsider riding a bike. Shifting is something that is learned from riding, everyone shifts at different rpms, and everyone rides different. I shift sometimes at 5,000 rpms and sometimes at 8K or sometimes at 13,500. Some people ride around in 1st gear and second and never shift higher in town. Some shift all the way up to 6th gear. Take a motorcycle safety course and get some experience under you belt.
