Default Targa Seat Cowl - Pics Included

I finally received my Targa seat cowl and got it installed. This is a great alternative to you late model F4i owners that would like a sportier look than the stock seat but don't want to spend $$$$$ on a tail conversion. The Targa seat cowl isn't necessarily inexpensive, between the cowl and the stock Honda decals the total cost was around $200 incl shipping. I'm really pleased with it though, I think it looks bad @ss.

From what i see that looks pretty cool, but do you got any more pics of it. I was thinking about that for my 05, but there really arent any good pics of it anywhere. Does it cover the whole back end of the tail or does it jsut cover the back half of the seat. Thanks.

That looks really good. I like that you didn't just put it on "stock", but put the decals and everything on. Good mod.

I didn't order it from Targa. I ordered it from Brad at Superbikesupply.com. If you call him and tell him about this forum he'll hook you up.

Installation is pretty simple. The only hard part was getting that holes in the cowl lined up with the holes in the strap you install on your seat. There are 2 phillips screws that hold it the cowl onto the seat. When the cowl is screwed on its pretty much impossible to get under the seat without taking the cowl off first, which sucks. Taking the cowl off is very simple, and other than removing the grab handle very little modification is required on the bike.

I think the decals ended up costing around $30. The silver Honda wing is the same decal that's on each side of the tank. The 600F4i decals are the same as the stock decals on the tail.
