Thanks everybody for all the comments and help. Ok i don't know where i was told to drain the gas after winter but looks like ill just ride it out. Just charged the battery up, gonna do a full fluid change just so i know its good to go. Looks like i should have done an oil change at the end of the season but i didnt so im gonna need to do that now. Gonna get brake fluid and coolant by the manuel but whats the best oil i should use? the bike has already been using synthetic i just don't know the exact kind so ill just start with anything really i just wanted your guys opinions on what i should get, thanks again guys

Wink

I use the Shell Rotella 5w40 full synthetic. It's in a blue bottle, and Walmart carries it for about 22.00 a gallon.

I started using that, because it seems like that's what the majority of people were saying on here when I first got my bike. Also, it seems like a pretty good price for full synthetic.

I didnt look into it myself, I just took his word for it as I was already pleased with the synthetic oil I had been using. Are any of you guys knowledgable in the subject? If so, I'd like to hear.

I've heard that's an urban legend and you can switch back and forth with no adverse consequences.

I have a hard time thinking that changing lubricants will cause any damage to seals
and gaskets. They may be different formulations, but they're all designed to do the
same thing, in the same environment. This is just an opinion, since I haven't run any
synthetics in my bike, though.

Thanks for the response, I did some reading myself on the matter and I didn't find any definitive support about negative effects from switching from synthetic back to conventional oil. The dealership probably just saw it as a way to get more money from me

Switching from synthetic to dino and back is fine, that guy may have believed what he told you but it's just a myth.
