I have a 2004 CBR F4I. Just wanted to know if a tail section from a 2003 would fit on a 2004. The one piece seat is a bummer and the 2 piece seat looks way better. Thanks for the help.

 

Yeah itll fit. You need the rear subframe,fairing,seat, and undertail for the swap.Its expensive to do but just depends on if its worth it to you or not

 

Yeah I was wondering that same thing. I don't really like that single seat deal. Makes the bike look lame. Thanks for this info now I don't have to post it up or hunt the info down.

 

Targa now makes a seat cowl that covers up the rear portion of the seat give the bike a single seat look! It's about $200. a lot cheaper that replacing the whole tail section. You can check it out at http://www.targa-acc.com/ Here's a picture of it too!

hey wats up im a new guy here, and glad to see an all cbr forum. i got an 04 f4i and hate the seat as much as everyone else. i knew it be pretty pricey to change the rear over to an 03 so i bought a seat cowl from this site

That does look a bit out of place. I'd be kind of skeptical of it too. Coverting to the 2003 F4i split seat isn't too bad if you sell the parts you take off on ebay. You just need to buy an 03 subframe, undertail, seats, and tailsection. Then just sell all your parts You should come close to breaking even...heck you might even make some money.

 

I'm interested in changing the look of my bike.

Any idea on handling characteristics that will change with a rear subframe, cowl, change to an '03?

 

Also, don't forget the price of painting the rear cowl once its been fitted to your bike.
