Default RE: t-rex sliders drop

hmm
I didn't use torque wrench but it's a bolt and the nut so I kinda used same force to tight the nust andas I wasunscrewing it.
I know does't sound professional but if the bolt was going into the the engine I would use the torque wrench.

You are right I will inspect the damage next week (if there is any) when it gets warmer, it's 35F in NY.

I wonder if I can crack the engine if the bike goes down harder, it's posible.

I am glad you are doing the Vortex one, forget the plastic, its better this way, I will consider it too, but for now the T-rex is enough (I HOPE)

Any ideas?

Since I installed my Vortex sliders, I've got a pair of no cut frame sliders that are in perfect condition. They're not T-rex, but they're pretty good. You can have the set for 30 bucks (you pay shipping). PM me if you want and I'll send you a picture.

Here's what my no-cut frame sliders look like. The brand is:

RIPP Racing Products "Frame Savers" HFS-012B $89.95 new

The're not actually that bad. Might help in a tip over situation. At speed, who knows! They certainly don't compare to my Vortex sliders that I just installed. But they are a cinch to install and don't look half bad

a easy tip over maybe. I had sumtin similar b4 I got my vortex. You kick kick those off fairly easy, the bolt that holds em on isnt big enough to hold any real weight and would get ripped right off in a lowside at any speed.

In my opinion, it seems like the t-rex are a waste of money. Just like some of you said that they would break off too easy and I personally think they are a little too high compared to the drilled sliders. If the bike does tip over, you would still get some damage to your fairing on the lower half. With Vortex, they are a better frame slider and would protect the bike more efficiently in my opinion. my 2 cents.
