Default Swingarm spools

i have been looking at stands to help store my bike for the winter. I have noticed on some sites that they are saying most bikes come with places already in the swingarm to put the spools in. I was just wondering if the f4i swingarm had bolt holds to put swingarm spools or if i need to drill my swingarm.

how you manage to put them on without drilling? did you just screw them to the axle or something?

Ok well some one in enlighten me, I am going to be doing the same thing when I pick up my wifes new F4 next week. I see the inserts and I hear you drill the swing arm, any pics? how do the stay in the swing arm? I assume you drill a hole and press them in from the out side? is it just a press fit? will this weaken the swing arm? Thanks

my bad guys

You have to drill a hole (the swingarm is hollow inside), put in these spool inserts and then basically thread a screw in and start tightening it down. It causes the insert to compress and then it cannot come back out. They are very stable and I have not had any issues.

One note. Whatever the thread size is for the insert, go to the hardware store and buy a nice long screw of that thread size. Do not use the ones that come with the kit. They are a little short for the compression part. I had a little trouble with one of them. Once you get the insert put in, you can use the screw that came with the kit to put the spool itself on.
