Suspension adjustments
How can I dial in my bikes suspension. I have heard that most bikes out there arent't adjusted for the rider. I am 2005lbs and my girl is about 100lbs. She rides on occasion so if i set up the bike it would have to accomodate her too. Any suggestions on this and/or tire pressures. Should I adjust the rear spring and the front forks. Also, not too mechanically sound with the bike! Suggestions?
Most sport bikes are setup for #150 riders, this being said, your way undersprung for 2 riders. With your current setup, all you can really do is crank up your preload on the front and rear all the way and turn up your compression a bit, as well as rebound. If your a bit on the heavy side like me and want a longer term solution, you need to install heavier springs.
I agree with ya 100% Tahoe, but if I was justcruising around carrying 300+ pounds, I would at least crank up thesettings just to add some stability. Just hitting a slight dip leaned over on an off ramp or any road can raise the pucker factor if the bike is too soft. It can kick you right out of your line. Especially for less experienced riders with a pilon on the back.
i go 195 and i set the rear preload to position 7 (max) and the front to two lines showing on the fork legs. thats just for me, no passenger. the bike was dippin and divin all over the place before. now its a lot more stabil and composed.
Here's a chart set up by sport rider that gives a guide for each bike, then obviously what you did, by adjusting/compensating for the added weight will work. This works even better when you have a good passenger and they can give good feedback from the changes.

I always thought it was someting like 310 or 325 for the bike can hold.
How dou you adjust the front srpings to be tighter and how to adjust the rear spring to be tighter. If I adjust it, I would def at least have it set to my standards and then maybe one setting to compensate for her 100 pounds.
