around here there is no emission inspections. the inspection here entails checking the headlights, brake lights, turn signals, tires, frame, and any type of leak. this is done either at dealer ships or "authorized" cycle shops. this is a state requirement to have a "road worthy" motorcycle.

ok this might be a retarded question but what are you guys talkin about when you say "inspection" why do you have to take your bike to anyone to get checked out ?
Safety inspection. I'm suprised all states don't have at least a saftey inspection. Just to make sureyour bike's o.k.to ride so you don't kill other people and I guess yourself included.

I haveread a lot of negative about the 207's.
They used to beone of the besttires 7-8 years ago. Tire advancement made those obsolete. If tires wouldn't have gotten better 207s would still be the ****. I guess that's why they still come on V-RODS, just like HD livin in the past.

I was told today that in Texas, the law is that you have to have a certain amount of tread left on the tires in order to pass inspection. 3/32" is the rule, which is even more restrictive than the wear indicators on the tires. Leave it to Harris County to be ballbusters when it comes to this stuff.

I think what happened here is that I just got it inspected at the wrong time. If I had it done on time (3 months ago), it probably would've passed, and I would have blissfully gone to nearly 4K before chaning them. As it is, I've got new Pilot Powers, and they are great so far. I'm sure they will last longer this time, because I will be much smarter on the inspection next time.
