Sucking up Gas

I just traded a bike for a CBR600F4i 2002 The bike is very stron and fast it has a major issue though we fill it up and run out of gas in about 70+ miles or so the bike smell very rich and it fouls the plugs and will drop a cylinder if you arn't clearing it out :icon_hyper:. We just synced the carbs and set the valves it still is going through gas like there is no tomarrow??? Need help pls

CBR's were fuel injected from 2001 on. That is why the designation changed from an F4 to an F4i. I would find out what you have (post pictures if you want) so that we can help some more, but there is no such thing as a stock carbed 2002.

Fuel pressure regulator.

Its an F4i and we synced the throttle bodys not carbs my bad.

Sorry the throtle bodys were synced. It runs goood except for a sputter around 8k then zoom it cleans up and runs awesome but it is only getting 70+ miles on a tank. The MIL is not picking up any malfunctions or problems. It has a short D&D pipe no air intakes hooked to the front cowl and no power commander. Would the MIL detect a faulty fuel presure reg??

No, The fpr diaphram ruptures and backfeeds into the cylinders via vac lines. The MIL system doesnt monitor that at all. Pull the vacuum line from the fpr to the 3way connector and you will most likely have gas leaking there. Then you will know for sure.

Are you basing your 70 miles per tank on the fact that the reserve bars come on? Because the fuel sensor that checks for the reserve levels may be faulty, and not have anything to do with your motor.

Just an option, I can't tell what you full problem is.
