I recently wrecked my 2001 CBR F4i. My subframe is bent and I'll need a new one. I was looking on eBay and they're plentiful. My question is what all years are interchangable with my 2001? I've seen some for 1999 CBR through 2006 CBR sub frames on there. I was wondering which ones would work. Thanks in advance.

 

I believe the 99-00 and 04-06 subframes are interchangable except they only work with the bannana seat.

Aim for an 01-03 and it will fit no problem.

 

All years will work on your bike, even the cbr600 f4 from 99 - 2000. (i swaped one on my friends bike when he 12ed it and bent it to ***). But 99-2000 f4 and 04 - 06 f4i subframe and seats will work, but you need subframe, seat, under tray, taillight, tail fairing ect. 2001 - 2003 you just need the subframe (split seat) but will bolt up the same. Also, the 2004 2005 sungrame has a spot for the hand rail on the rear.

For direct replacement on your 2001 split-seat model, you need the '01-03 split-seat subframe & components (battery tray, tail plastic).

Be very leery of ebay item descriptions...they're often incorrect. In fact, just looking at F4/F4i subframes on there now, there are several incorrect descriptions.

Notice this one is bent, but also notice it has a large cross member twords the rear.

 

Yep, that cross-member is a contact point for the tail plastic to bolt to & also where your passenger seat connects.
