Stripped thread... advices?
In the middle of my tail conversion, I came across a problem.
When I put the fairing on and tried to install the frankenstein bolt on the right side, I noticed that the bolt wasn't catching on the thread. Sure enough, the hole on the subframe was mangled.
What can I do to install my frankenstein bolt? Is there a way to fill the hole, re-drill and re-tap?
Also, the Delkevic fairing from China is not an OEM fit... I suppose I should have expected that one. :0p

Thanks for the reply Karl. I don't think a tap would work because the thread inside the hole has been ground out by the previous owner - probably didn't let the thread catch the bolt and just powered his way in.
I will definitely need to fill the space with something and re-drill / re-tap. I want to do this right. LocTite will work - problem is, if I ever want to take the fairing off, it will be impossible to take the frankenstein bolt back out again.
Hmm....
