I have a 2001 F4i. I recently bought all of the components for the 04-06 banana seat conversion due to a recent accident. I have the rear fairing, flush mount undertail tail light, sub frame and seat. I still have the tray from the 2001 tail. It obviously doesn't fit.

I was wondering what all years I could use when I start to look for a new tray and if I would have just use F4i 04-06 or if I could use a 600RR tray etc.

 

You already answered your own question. You need a banana seat tray. 600rrr's never had banana's.

 

Just curious, why would you go banana conversation and not just fix the split seat

 

04-06 Undertail/Undertray is what you need. @Mr. Phil some people like the banana seat better. Why? I can't answer that but me personally I am all for the split seat.

 

Banana seats are much more comfy, plus they are super easy to find parts for [and cheaper usually] vs the split seats as most people get rid of them.

 

F4 (99/00) is the same as well afaik.

 

I wrecked my bike and I found a really good deal on the conversion on here.

I'm also having a hard time finding one. I might just have to rig something up.

Yep. They are the same. You might want to trim some of the plastic near the rectifier just for clearance.. but aside from that it's the same..
