steering creaking???
Hey all, I'm getting a funny creaking noise when stopping on my 2002 F4i. It's just one little creak, and i thing I can feel a little give when it occurs. I'm thinking the steering head bearings may need cranking down on a little? The triple trees and clip-ons are both tight. Anyone else have any sort of issues like this? The bike has 13K mi on it, never wrecked.
otherwise, put the bike up on tripe stands and pull the front tire in a forward backward position. if you feel some 'klunk' type give...you need to either get new bearings or tighten it up.
has it ever been wheelied or wrecked?

I have the same thing man I don’t know what it is but I do wheelie mine a lot. Its like a drug. But yeah I don’t know what it is I thought head set too but I haven’t messed with any thing yet
no mang...it's like this...you had a perfect fit but over time, the parts wear and now there are gaps where there used to be 'parts'...
lubricant won't do much as you will still feel the play.

I'm trying to bed in new EBC HH pads which I've had for over 300 mi. now, and one rotor only shows only partial contact with the pads, so I'm braking kind of harded than normal to get them to wear to fit. The noise only occurs then (semi hard braking). I screwed around with the clip ons moving them up, so I thought that might be it, but their tight and loctited on. No noise turning side to side.
