Default stator cover gasket

I was wondering I if you guys could tell me if a stator cover gasket could be reused like a valve cover gasket. I looped my bike and cracked it so I ordered one on ebay and I'm relatively new to working on bikes so I needed to know so I could go ahead and order it. Does it need rtv?
Thanks.
Daniel

no sir...reuse it and it will leak.it most likely won't come off cleanly like the valve cover gasket. it's not the rubber type, but rather the cardboard type.

^ yea,he is right.
plus, I know when I ordered my alternator cover from ebay the item came as a set. it had the gasket in there. make sure that your set has one already there so you dont have to trouble yourself to look for another one.
good luck

trust me its better to do it right the 1st time so you dont have to keep taking off that damn cover! and no if you have the gasket and there isnt any damage to the housing, it should seal properly with just the new gasket
