Default Starting with an F4i

I just wanted to see how many people started off with a F4i and what your experience was with it was it a good bike to start with or do you regret it

This is my first bike. IMO, it's a very good bike to start with, and from what others have told me, I made a good choice. I've ridden other bikes like the R6 and ZX-6R around and the F4i is a much easier bike to handle. The other bikes handle really good but it can be deceiving bike ability as rider ability which puts you in trouble. I haven't regretted getting the F4i and still continues to make me happy everytime I ride it. I think the best part with it is that you can grow into a F4i, not like other beginner bikes like a Ninja 250 or 500 where you kinda wanna upgrade. I know I will have the F4i for quite some time before I feel I need to upgrade.

Definitely! Despite its easier to handle ability, the F4i can still get you in trouble if you don't ride it without the right mentality (i.e, ride responsibly, not showing off, etc). It is more lenient than a R6, ZX-6R, etc, but regardless, bikes in general can get you in trouble w/o the right mentality.

As a current owner of an F4i, I never did regret my choice. I have ridden other bikes like the 600rr and my brother has a GSX-R 600. Both are great bikes but as a first time learner I would have to agree that the F4i is the best of all worlds. As it states on the honda website it's the best "all-around" bike in it's class. I would definitely have to agree on that statement cuz it gives you the comfort and the flexibility to do what you need to do. I also just rode my buddy's GSX-R 1000 and after riding a beast like that makes you really appreciate your F4i when it comes to handling and the comfort. Just don't abuse your riding privileges by showing off to your friends, etc...

I got tired of my 250 fast. I actually sort of regret even getting it. Sure 250s can be fun and all, but if you already know the basics of riding (MSF etc.) an F4i won't be a problem at all

^ yes. Take the msf class and just practice for a while in a parking lot. I started on a f4i and have had no problems so far.

i started on my f4i. rode 2006 r6 ( very uncofortable to wide of seat and bike turned wierd) buddys 06 gsxr 600 wich was ok but just felt like a heavier bike. curently im putting around $ 1000.00 in my f4i for plastics slip on and a cam chain tensioner (cct) and cant say that im going to look back and say i shouldnt have. test ride as many bikes as you can and see what you think of them but overall i think the f4i is good bike to start on. cheers

I just bought an 01 F4i about a month ago. This is my first bike and I'm doing just fine. Like the others said...if you try showing off and don't know what you're doing it can mess you up.
