I have heard it is better to add to the rear then go down more then 1 in the front.

-2/+2 almost equal -1/+5.

going down a tooth for the front sprocket is the same as going up 3 in the back. so yeah -2/+2 would be the same as -1/+5

Jeff & Nick are giving you good feeback.

What is the main type of riding you are doing?

There's really no reason to go -2 in front.

Well going -2/+2 will hurt your top end a bit.

Play around with www.gearingcommander.com to find out what will happen with certain changes before you do them.

I just went-1 +1, cuz I want a little more low end but nothing crazy cuz I like going to 1/4 mile racing... I got a Jomthai front sprocket with a vortex rear and an rk gold chain started with the stuck 525... In putting it on in the next couple days

for 1/4 id prefer 520 conversion -1/+2, thats what im running, lighter chain= more acceleration.
