Sprocket Questions
I was just looking at the forums and I see alot of f4i guys do -1 in front and +2 in the rear for better low end. Now I know then a speedo healer is needed but my question is How big of a differance is it over stock? Is it a mod worth doing? I do love hitting high speeds often, will this hurt top end really bad? I see alot of people like this for 2nd gear wheelies which im not into yet. I put a 4.10 in my stang and she rips out of the hole but then just dies around 90. Could I expect the same kind of results with -1/+2 set up? Thanks
also curious. i'm at -1 on the front now and i can still rip it past 150 when i need to. dont know if -1,+2 will push it too far down. i dont wanna be like the other bikes cruisin the highway @ 10k
There is a noticeable difference in low end speed. I'm planning on doing this as well. My brother and cousin have it on their 03 636 ninja, and 06 r6. As far as money/speed ratio, they say it's the best thing to do. Next would be a power commander and full exhaust imo.
im like 210-215
top end speed on my bike is nice.
looking to increase lower end now.
thanks for the gearing website.

To the OP, yes the -1+2 will hurt top end but will also make cruising quite annoying at 9k rpm on the highway all the time. If at all possible try to get a test ride in on a buddys bike to see if you like it. OR get a -1 front sprocket (25$ on ebay) so you can keep your stock chain and give that a whirl, still want more acceleration? then go -1+2 with a 520 setup.

what would be the difference going -1 in front
or just going
+2 in back?
