Default SPEEDOS OFF

I was riding this weekend and had a hand held GPS. Between 50 and 70 mph the speedometer is off 5 mph ( high ) and the faster you go its off even more. I think we all know this. But now this BUGS ME !For 5000 miles I have been riding to slow. Who has the best price on a speedo healer ? I gotta get one.

Get a speedohealer, they are like 100 bucks on ebay. It took care of my inaccurate speedometer.

My friend bought an older Katana with different sprockets. He had (and still has) the habit of speeding very badly. My friend and i never told him the speedo read too fast, hoping that it would save him a few tickets in the long run.

Don't worry about it. If anything it might just save your butt from getting a ticket sometime. So why spend money to change something that could only benefit you in the long run. And now that you know it, you can always subtract a few mph to the indicated speed when you're on the highway. And if you forget to, so much the better.

I really don't understand why this is such a big issue. You didn't care about it until you found out it was (ever so slightly) wrong, did you? How will "fixing" it really change anything?

Stock bikes, for me it's no big issue. Change the sprockets and make the spedometer read high, that means the odometer is also reading high. 10% error means 1,000 miles for every 10,000 driven - shows 11,000 when I've only done 10. That's what bugs me. Resale value.
