Speedo problem
I faced recently with an anoying problem! When i ride my bike, sometimes the speedometer does't work, it shows 0 km/h and the FI light is on (only sometimes). I turn off the engine, start back and then it's ok...for a while. I've noticed that, the problem with the speedo appears mostly when I shift from 1st to 2nd gear. First I put the blame on weather, because I live in Romania and it's winter here already, +2 degrees Celsius.
Anyone had this problem?

RE: Speedo problem
I haven't had that exact problem, but I think I have an answer to your problem. When the F1 light comes on, its a code saying theres something wrong with your bike. If it is happening intermitterly and not all the time, it sounds like your speedometer wire has come loose and just needs to be secured.
Here is a link of where it is located

This is the tuturial of installing a speedohealer, but shows you where to look for the wire. Good luck.

RE: Speedo problem
sounds like it could be your speedometer sensor. i had similar problems around 18k miles. my speedo would stay at zero, mileage wouldnt budge. asked around on here and found it was the speedosensor. might want to look at that as a posibility too, chief. i hope you get'er fixed!

RE: Speedo problem
yea bro its ur speedo sensor mine went bad about 2 months ago, i was able to replace it myself but to do so u have to take off the tank, off the air box, take off the throttlebody, remove all the coolant lines and fuel lines that are linked together ontop of ur trani to get to the speed sensor, its located right on top of ur trani and its two bolts and a wireharness, if ur not mechanicaly inclined do not do this urself, if you are refer to ur service manual and if u dont have one download one at cbrextreme.com.... it shows ur exactly what to do, but get a couple quarts of coolant and make sure ur tank is pretty much empty or its a pain in the ***..... good luck to ya
