Sorry I didn't know-K&N air filter
Doingsome prepmaintenance on my bike and just found a K&N air filter under the tank. Now I know why my bike has been getting crappy gas mileage (mid 20's). I've been running the wrong map!!
I recall reading about reduced performance over the stock filter on the F4i. Anyone know where I can find this info? I blanked on search.

RE: Sorry I didn't know-K&N air filter
I just installed a K&N, Yosh pipe and a PC on my 02 F4i...waiting for the weather to improve before trying it.
Everything I've read (since buying the K&N) is that it doesn't improve much on the F4i over a stock filter. In factmost of the maps from PC state (stock or K&N filter) which means they are basically the same.
I suspect your mileage problem lies elsewhere (start by cleaning the filter).

I don't suspect, unless the filter is way dirty or to much oil after cleaning, that it is really contributing to the low MPG. Most PC maps will have little difference in the setup between stock and aftermarket. I have a K&N due to longevity. I would troubleshoot further on this one.
