Haha, yea, I can see the whole world behind me now, but in a smaller scale ( in a meaning; wider angle, but everything is smaller).

The lining is for both: different look and protection. It already helped to safe fairings once : )

 

I personally like the look, but I bet those things are impossible to see with all the vibration at the bar ends above 45 mph...

Mine is simular but I only use one on the left,
and I can accually can see behind me alot better than the stockers.
Looks good from the side, a little odd from the front.
