Default So this is how far I am w/ my spilt-seat

I'm kinda stuck with some of the wiring and mostly the placement of the ecu and power commander. No trunk space what so ever. I'm debating on taking of the tank to make moving things around easier but I still don't know how much or will help. If you have done this and can lend some knowledge I'm open for suggestions and ideas.

Lol believe or not I had my laptop opened up to your turtorial when I was doing it so it helped bit I think our ecu's are different. I tried it on top of the battery cover and it fits and all but there's a lot of excess cable and its not very bendable. The seat won't fit. I'm looking for someone with am 01-03 to take a few pics of there tail insides.
Your turtorial did help a lot though. Did you tank your tank off to do it? It doesn't look like it.
I only worked on it for about two hours. I'll have a good 6 hours free on weds so I'm hoping to get it all wrapped up by then

The wiring can route the same, doesn't matter if its an '01-03 or not (harness is the same). ;-) Use cable-ties to route & secure your wiring harness. Makes it easy to keep it in one spot.

I do not use the battery cover...its not necessary. My ECU lives on top of the battery. The front seat fits fine. Yes, the ECUs have minor dimensional differences but its not significant. I've done conversions on F4i's & it fits fine the way I mentioned.

As for your Power Commander, I would notch-out the battery tray compartment pocket to allow placement (i.e. where you have it now - cut the vertical wall for clearance).

There's absolutely no need to take off the tank.

OK. I worked on it a little when I got home from work. I think I have the right combo. I'll post some more pics when I get further along

I used gotcbr's tutorial when i was putting my conversion on too, it helped a ton. I have an undertail on mine, i just ended up mounting my ecm under the crossbar that the rear fairing bolts to, i made a bracket and it fits well, but year not a lot of trunk space.
