Really?!?!? Ive never heard of doing this! Im def going to get one and see what happens!

I always thought that those markings in the road where to sense a cars weight and then trigger the light to change....

Lines are there to sense a change in the magnet field..A lot of times bikes dont trigger them.

When i come up to one of these lights ,i park directly on one of the lines. Its a 95% chance that the light changes for me..Cost =zero..

Now, I know how it works. I was wondering why lights doesn't change and I was wondering if they use some kind of motion sensor. Thank you for sharing people.

I have serious doubts whether 2 sq.m. inductive loops can be triggered by 2" magnets... your spark plugs and metal parts cause way more interference electromagnetically than could a small magnet. Instead I'm +1 for stopping right over one of the lines.

Here's a simple test... WALK over to one of the signals with a magnet in hand. This will be a good test whether the magnet triggers anything (assuming you're not part android). PLEEEEASE do this test and post the result someone! Hold the magnet a couple of inches from the ground (maybe tape it to the top of your shoe and walk into and around the loop?).
