Default Sissy bar removal

Has anybody removed their sissy (passenger) bar on their 04-06 f4i? I'd like to remove mine, but I'm left with 2 big holes for mounting of the bar. I think the bar looks really stupid, and no passenger of mine has ever used it.

I can paint it black to make it look better, but if any body has any success stories on removal, I'm all ears.

Thanks.

Most guys keep them on to help move their bike around. lol. The guys who do take it off usually cover it with stickers

Stickers huh? Perhaps I will try that, I was looking for something a little more permanent. It seems to me like it is a big gap to span with stickers. I'll scour the internet more and post my findings.

if you want a more permanent fix why not fill them with bondo or plastic weld... then have the tail painted

I was trying to avoid painting it, simply due to cost, but I suppose without covering it up painting is really the only option. Maybe I'll bondo-sand-stickers/decals for now. I have plenty do to on the bike this winter before this gets done though, we'll have to wait and see if I get to it.

You could buy an f4 tail - they dont have the bar so no holes - and should be a direct swap.

I've often thought a grab bar might be nice...but I have a split tail
