Signal mirrors for f4i any suggestions???

I have been wanting for a long time now to ditch the stock mirrors for the signal mirrors. I love the stock ones on the newer cbrs, but was told they wouldn't fit the f4i. Can anyone recommend a good aftermarket set?

Search eBay, Amazon, or any other online moto-store for the style and pair you like. You can wire up aftermarket led mirrors to function exactly the way the newer CBRs do. I think the pair I got was around ~$20.

I've written up reviews on aftermarket (hong kong) mirrors before and cant find my own thread. :icon_warped:

I got the the same set of universal mirrors below on ebay for under $20. They looked nice, convex glass (a must), LEDs were bright and were super easy to wire in to the stock signal harness.

BUT they are total junk. never stayed in place. vibrated so bad you couldnt see out of them at all. and after a few weeks the LED plastic lenses had cracked and plastic could be heard bouncing around inside the housing. Eventually the cheap plastic stem on the right mirror snapped off one day while riding, dangling by the wires before i just ripped it off. Went back to stock and never looked at aftermarket mirror again.

I realize i did buy the cheapest set of ebay mirrors i could find. Maybe if you spend $150 you'll get a nice set of aftermarkets.

If i did it again i would go with OEM mirrors removed from other bikes. Metal stems are the key to low vibrations by adding some mass to the mirrors.

So the 1000rr mirror won't fit a f4i??

Sick97SS 05-24-2012 10:43 AM

the above gold f4i has gsxr mirror heads, on f4i stalks.

gsxr stalks either dont fit or the angle is off

Thanks for the advice guys. I agree, i would like to stay away from the CHEAP aftermarket. If there were good quality ones i would consider it. I like the gsxr mirrors on the f4i. I wish there was a write up on the install, and what year gsxr they came off. How hard would it be to remove the stock mirrors from the stalks? has anyone tried this?

One or two bolts, extremely easy.

Thanks darkninja, does anyone happen to know if the mirrors off the new model hondas would fit/or easily modded to fit???

Great idea!

I have those cheap ebay mirrors on my old kawi but they are bar mounted. Took quite a bit of work to make them stay in place over 100, oddly they have held up though.

I think I will definitely be trying the gsxr mirror idea - so long as they can come off quickly as well (wiring).
