shut off when riding

shut off when riding

Riding home on the highway and the bike shuts off. But it sounded like the motor was running slowly. Still heard exhaust but I had no power. Bike doesn't start and lights are dim. So just a battery or more??

...... do all of the electronics actually work?? ... if they do, it might not be the battery .... did ya at least test the battery?? ... Ya gotta dig a lil further into it ...

What's happening when you try to start it? Have you tried charging the battery? Checked all oil/liquid levels? Checked gas?

I just got it home. It's on a charger now. Everything works. Just real faint. When I go to start it it just sounds of tapping rapidly

ok. so my battery is fine. i bought a new one and the same thing is happening. after about 30 mins of riding all gauges shut off. then the bike will die. battery will be drained. do i have a short or other problems.

Check your R/R and connections. My guess is that on the 30m mark it'just gets too hot and the bike shuts off.
It would also explain the drained battery.
