Question Shoei RF-1100, Anyone tried it?

Thinking of upgrading my Scorpion EXO-700 to the Shoei RF-1100.

I tried one on at the local store, felt great and light.
Was wondering if anyone has one and your thoughts on ventilation and road noise.

I just picked one up this season. I love it. It fits great, very comfortable and has nice ear pockets so headphones don't hurt. I have the metallic black and it looks stunning. I also bought the mirror shield which hurt the wallet quite a bit at like $90 i think. I wouldn't say it's very quiet but it's not as loud as my old Arai RX-7.

The overall fit and finish of everything is really top notch. It comes with a upper/nose breath deflector and a chin skirt. Those two features sold me well.

The mouth vent blow air up behind the shield as opposed to directly onto the face. The front top vents seem to work okay. There are 4 rear vents for no reason other than to look cool. I say this because opening just two as opposed to four doesn't change much. The vents close solid, they don't feel cheap at all.

The interior is nice. Not quite as plush as Arai but it's still very good. As I said, there are substantial pockets or holes in the lining where your ears are. If you wear ear phones this is a nice feature.

The face shield has like 12 notches. but when fully closed is drops back and seals tight (hard to explain). The face shield has a lock that if you push down on it cracks the shield open a bit for de-fogging.

The aerodynamics of this thing are pretty cool. If you're at highway speed you can feel the helmet in its own little zone. However, checking your shoulder isn't a problem. Depending on how you hold your head you may get a slight whistle with all vents open. It shouldn't be a deal breaker though.

I'm completely satisfied with the RF-1100.

Yeah, I got it the same day from the stealership, I couldn't wait. I'm not positive of the price. May have been $75-ish. But I remember it was expensive.

I also just noticed that your showing the old face shield for the RF-1000. The RF-1100 uses a new faceshield.

Zach - I thought I told you to get back into the garage.

DBEAU thanks for the in depth review! just what I was hoping for.

Shadow and Aken - Guess i'm out of excuses for not buying it now. My Exo is nice but after I tried the RF-1100 on I can't stop thinking about it - the Exo is heavier, and doesn't feel as comfy on my face.

Anyways i'm thinking about this one, what do you guys think.

Ugh - well I bought it. Chrome visor too.

Anyone wanna buy my Exo 700 Matte Black Large with 4 visors? (mirrored silver / mirrored gold / mirrored ruby, which is actually purple upon receiving it / and clear)? ah $245 shipped?
