Default Shifting problems

So.....occasionally from 3rd to 4th I hit what I have hear referred to as a "false neutral. It will tack up, then I let off and it always goes into gear afterwards. Doent do it all the time. Did it once first day I had it. Twice the second day, then didn't do it at all the third day. Did it again while ago. I must admit....this scares me. Any suggestions as to what the problem may be?? I'm afraid its the gear box or the tranny. Btw.....its an 03 600 f4i with 30k miles on it. Still runs great!

I've experienced that issue and have found it usually is due to me either: A) not clicking the shifter forcefully enough or B) using an oil that is too slick. I'm currently running Rotella T6 and I've noticed it's easier to get a false neutral than when I was using Motul...

I just find it funny that it's only between 3rd and 4th.....makes me think its something internal. I read about some guys lowering the shifter. May try that and will also be concious of my pressure I am applying to my shifter from here forth. I've read a lot about the different oils people use. I'm just gonna stick with the Honda GN4. Pretty sure the folks at Honda knows what that machine needs!
