as always, to each his own. however i use rotella t6 full synthetic 5w-40 from walmart. its $20 for enough to change your oil. not $45, not $9 or $10 a quart. i also use a supertech (walmart) filter for a honda civic. 23000 miles and going strong.

I use Pro-Honda HP4 10W40 blend... I've had good luck with it and she shifts like silk.

I hear the HP4 works really well...and it's more affordable too. That's gonna be my next one.

i use honda oil just cause its free from a buddy. as for shifting i shift mine sometimes (up) with my left hand on my waist (lazy) and i dont have to do anything to get it to go. ohh and you guys that say you want a smother shift....try spraying some wd40 on the shift pedal bracket (where the shifter mounts) and the shift shaft. whenever mine starts to feel "sticky" i do that and it clears right up and almost feels like im not even shifting gears.

I started out using HP4,then would use GN4 sometimes,then switched to Rotella T 5w40
last year. For about $20/quart,best product out there for the money IMO.

I use the clutch for 1-2 shift and downshifting only, just a practice I've learned to do after doing X # of trackdays & dragstrip passes. Doesn't really matter though, whatever is more comfortable for you

I use GN4 10-40 and a honda filter every 3k. Im at 38,000 miles now and still going strong. Yes I normally use the clutch all the time. You don't have to, it will shift super smooth and easy if you just roll off the throttle as you push up on the shifter upshifting. I don't use the clutch upshifting when Im pushing the bike hard or when I already have my left hand off the bar.
