Shifted up and it fell into neutral??
i have a 2005 F4i, So i took my bike out today for a little ride after the snow fall over the week end, everything stated fine.. I pulled on to the road and shifted from 3th to 4th gear and i knew right away it wasint in forth so i let go of the cluch and the bike was out of gear, with no neutral light. I imediatly pulled over shifted down, and everything looked fine. So i contiuned to ride with no probles. Has this ever happed to anyone else. i have been riding for a few years and this has never happed.

as i said before...it's called false neutral. it happens occasionally (on most bikes). it could also be called a lazy shift.

I have shifted from 1st into neutral when im going slow and im shifting like a bitch. but this was way different, i thought i broke my bike lol. if anyone has any info of why it does that a nd how i can prevent it that would be great

RE: Shifted up and it fell into neutral??
I think what he is saying is he shifted from 3rd to 4th gear(didn't kick the shifter hard enough and the bike fell out of gear between 3rd and 4th) and then it probably made a hell of a ****ty sound like stuff banging together so he pulled over and downshifted it back into gear and everything was fine. This has happened to meonceor twice, its just a missed shift
EDIT: You beat me to it! The secret to not letting it happen is kick that MFer into gear like a man...not like a sissy[8D] Shift with authority and you should be fine.
