yes, that is not a shift light, it is a redline indicator....if you enter the redline RPMs, that light will go off....as some people have indicated that pin it often, it acts as a shift indicator LOL, but no it's merely a warning light...
from what i have read also, there is no way to change it TO a shift light either....just listen to the engine to shift
