I firmly.belive with the record that have.been shown that the bike has been factory maintained at the correct mileage so for the price its unbeatable. My 900rr has 24000 and still funds like a dream I've had my problems with it because the previous owner let it sit for three years but after some tlc she runs like a dream

I agree 24k is nothing for these bikes! If it has been well taken care of (you can usually tell) then I would put another 24k on it. I went from a 97f3 to this and sadly to say I love some of the older bikes but will never go back to carbs! gl

LOL. You probably think cars with 100,000 miles on them is a lot too. I'll take your bikes any time they hit around 20,000 as they must be junk.

Agree that 24k miles is nothing unless it was owned by someone who didn't know how to shift gears. I bought my previous bike at 19K, and was at around 46k when it was stolen. Otherwise I'd still be riding it and would have over 60 on it by now. I'd rather buy a bike that was ridden and maintained than one that sat and was neglected.

In response to the original poster, going from a steel-framed, carbed 900 to an F4i, if anything the 600 will outperform your current bike.

Regarding price - its a buyers market right now.

I got my 2002 f4i for $4k, and it only had 5k miles on it. And literally does not even have 1 scratch on it, never been tracked, clean title, etc.

So make sure you get a deal!

I would go for it, like everyone says the F4i is a tank. Mine had 30k when i bought it and now has around 33k since i got it a little over a month ago. Back when i was painting i noticed everything on it looked great. None of the seals were leaking and weren't dried out, its a 01' and i gave $2500 for it. Runs as good as the last one i had with 5k on it and the motor looks a lot better than the one that had 5k.

All depends on how well the previous owners took care of it. I got a few friend who wouldn't buy a bike with more than 10k on them, but a 10k bike can have more problems than a high mileage bike depending on how they were abused.

$4k is a deal? I guess $2600 in July (10K/mi) was a steal then

It all depends. My bike is literally in perfect condition..outside of needing a cctl replacement. Not 1 scratch or blemish, had all paperwork of it being serviced, had race exhaust professionally installed, etc.

$4k for a brand new looking/riding bike is a deal.
