Selling on consignment

Selling on consignment
I am going to be selling my 05 silver f4i in the spring. I was wondering if anyone had any feedback on having my local honda dealership sell it on consignment.I am obviously looking to get the best price but I also don't want to wait around forever so I thought I might get a better price having a dealership sell it for me (they will do it for free since I am buying a new bike from them)than if I sold it on ebay or had it waiting around on craigslist. Any thoughts?

heh what makes you think they will sell it for the best price? As you said they are doing it for free so they don't care how much it sells for after they suckered you into a new bike.
Dealer: "We have this bike for $6500"
Potential buyer: "Well i only have like $4500"
Dealer: "You got yourself a deal"
Dealer calling you: "Good news! we sold your bike....................for $4500"
You: *puke*

Honestly, I would rather sell on ebay any day of the week, larger market, easy to send people the link when you are selling, etc. The bike shops will not care how long it takes to sell your bike, as they would rather sell one of there own as more profit, and they will see someone looking at yours and say that is nice, but you know for $69 a month you can have the newest coolest bla bla bla....
I have sold 10+ bikes on ebay over the years and never had problems, jcmotors.com I have used for shipping every time, always around $600 anywhere in the us. If you need any help let me know!!!

Yeah, I bought my new bike and all my parts for it right now as this is the absolute lowest value point of the year for motorcycles, no one is thinking of riding when it is cold, but come spring everyone gets bike fever, watch the prices increase with the climate! A good example are these nolan helmets I am selling, I have lots of them on ebay right now and they are selling good only because I have them so cheap. Come spring they will be $450 again and will sell twice as fast as they are now, even though I have them right now for $150 or less.

Boyracer...absolutely put itin your local motorcycle trader, craigslist, ebay...any medium you can advertise it on. +1 to staying away from consignment. Another thing, be patient and you might want to put the word FIRM in the ad when you post it. I am the worst when it comes to selling things.
Me: Hey, this is for sale for $300
Potential Buyer: How about if I cold **** you in the face and smack your kids around?
Me: Okay!!!

If so I want your ti exhaust, pcIII, led passenger pegs, etc. I don't think you will honestly get any more out of your bike with the accessories, and depending on the buyer it might make or break the deal. Let me know if you want, I would love to see some pictures of this stuff and can pay instantly with paypal....really need a pcIII but don't want to pay the $269 retail.

You should DEFINATELY try and get the bike back to as stock as possible and sell the rest separately. You can't argue the value of your bike by what aftermarket stuff you have on it. You'll make more by selling all the stuff separately, considering it will probably sell good too.
