Are the two part and single piece seats interchangable or would the bike/seat need to be modified?

 

You need to change out the subframe, tail fairing, and some other stuff. It's a popular thing to do.

MIA... He got busy with life stuff and took a break, according to the last email I got from him. He said he would return earlier this year, but didn't.

I will email him and see what's up or go ride Palomar mountain on Saturdays until I chase him down.
