Split seat design + aftermarket (Corbin) seat FTW.

Interesting, where did you get that? I have a 06 f4i at a dealer that can look better with that cover.

The split seat looks a LOT better. I had an F4 (banana seat) and now my F4i, and I don't notice any real comfort difference. I admittedly don't ride hundreds of miles at a time, but for the kind of riding I do, I don't notice it. (Around town riding, and the occasional cruise through our local backroads).

Like many others here i'd been on both.
2000 F4 - Banana
2002 F4i - Split

The only time i felt uncomfortable with the split seat is when i went on a 7hr ride. The longest next to that was a 4hr ride, and there was no discomfort.

Theres really no difference in the seats besides a little added cushion to the banana. Ive got an 04 that ive done the swap on. If you really think a split seat is uncomfortable then why do you think they still make it on all other bikes? heh I think they switched the seats because the rr came out, and they turned the f4 into a tourer. But I have no regrets I love the split. But I may get a corbin in the future.

I've got an 01 and have never rode a nanner version, but have no complaints with the split seat. I ride all day with cruisers; put on a few hundred miles at a time and can't complain. I'm pretty impressed being that the seat is so thin. We bought F4is, they are a comfortable sport bike.
