Default The seat dispute

I know that on earlier F4i had the 2 separate seats and the newer had the banana seat. Is it as uncomfortable having the 2 separate seats as reviewers say? I like that style better, but if its really that uncomfortable, then I'll rethink then.

I don't find having the separate seats uncomfortable at all. Never rode one with the banana though so I need to point out that I have nothing to compare to. Longest ride I have been on though was about 110 miles at once, but I don't think it would make too much difference. Just my opinion

I have rode both.. The banana is more comfortable if you are going long distances all at once. I have taken 600 mile trips on both in a weekend and the end result is my a$$ and back hurt either way. I want to say the Banana was comfortable for a little longer but after a certain period they are all the same.

Ok, cause I saw a review saying that Honda changed the seat due to complaints about the uncomfortable. Thanks for the input. I think the 2 seat one looks better.

+1 to that.

I have an '06 right now, and it's nicer for long rides. I can do about two and a half on it before it starts getting uncomfortable. On my old '02, 1.5 maybe two before it got bad. But as said above, if you go long enough, it doesn't matter...

My 2000 F4 had the banana seat before I did the split-seat conversion. So, I've got tons of miles on both setups. For my purposes & preferences, I like the split seat better. For twisties, I just like being able to get off the bike better w/ the split-seat. Comfort wasn't an issue for me. Then again, I also ride an RC51 & have no issues w/ that seat either. ;-)

Anything I do is either longer trips or neighborhood running. I pretend im a racer, in the sense of trying to cut corners not super fast speed stuff. So I think the older 2 seater fits my style.

I think it's mainly the looks area, not the comfort. If you want comfort you'll pay for the Corbin seat.

I don't find the split seat uncomfortable on long trips- it's my knees that start to hurt after a while.
