Default SCARED SH$&-less

hellllp--guys. need to know if this has happened to anyone else or if my foot just slipped.......last night i had a near wreck--as i was beginning to accelerate after i had completed a small turn (after i was completely straight and had ridden for a few hundred yards or so, i decided to get on it. i was in 2nd gear, i know i was. and as i got into the throttle hard (about 85-90 percent of full). all of a sudden the tranny slipped out of 2nd into neutral, revved REAALLY high and scared the **** out of me, and the bars started to do a tank slapper, thankfully i recovered quickly rolled the throttle off and kept her upright. but i need to know if anyone else has ever had this happen, is something wrong with my bike? or am i just a moron and didn't notice my toe accidently slide the shifter down into N from 2nd???? any help???

i had a somewhat similar incodent except the tranny just slipped and didnt actually go into nuetral

i was in 2 gear about to do a wheelie, so i reved it up and poped the clutch like always and the only response i got from my bike was a slight jerk then i hit the rev limiter

that was the only time its ever done anything weird like that, then for some reason when ever i downshift from 6th to 5th my bike likes to find that mystery nuetral s well

you must have done something very wrong to go into a tank slapper from you bike going into neutral...that doesnt make much sense...

I had that happen while I was in a wheelie, it happened twice then I changed the oil to a different brand and it hasnt done it since. Make sure you dont accidentally hit the shifter, that has happened to me also. I was accelerating and I adjusted my foot and hit the shifter and it jumped into neutral.

you throttled, front got light...tranny came out of gear and you tank slapped...

unless you shift with authority, it will slip out of second...

Either you slipped and knocked it or you didn't fully engage when you last changed gears.

thanks y'all--so essentially what im getting from this is either A)i slipped and knocked it back into NEUTRAL? or otherwise i didn't get it fully into 2nd but it was engaged just enough to let me start to pull the throttle on it and then it slipped back? either way its nothing mechanical, just rider error?

Yes, most likely not fully engaged. I've had it happen, during a wheelie after shifting to 2nd as stated above. It does happen. Nothing mechanical.
