Default Riding Boots/Shoes

I need some help on deciding which pair of riding boots/shoes to get. the first pair are the vega merge boot found here http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...erge-Boot.aspx

the second pair im looking at is the spidi x-j shoe this one is more of a shoe rather then boot like the other 1 . http://www.kneedraggers.com/details/...s--640468.html

let me know how yall feel about them

I think the first set look like Reeboks on steriods. I like the 2nd pair. Black for sure

No expierence with ridings shoes though

Unfortunatly I wear sneakers most of the time just riding around town like a squid. (jacket and gloves 100% though) but if im gonna be "gettin' it" on a long ride with some buddies i'll wear my steel-toe leather workboots.

The armor in the 2 shoes being equal, I'd go with the Spidi. They specify heel reinforcement while the Verge don't. More protection is always better

I wanted a shoe also but then I caved realizing that I would get more protection from something a little more high quality , I like my feet and ankles the way they are and I know a guy who went down and busted his ankle real bad....Idk what your price range is but it never hurts to spend a little more...I picked these up a few weeks ago and I love them and they are VERY comfortable...Shift has a few riding shoe/boots... Let us know your final decision!

Puma Flat 2 v2

Got them at Cycle Gear for like $100 when they had a huge sale. They are normally $200. Once you break them in, they are superbly comfortable and look just like a shoe underneath jeans. People really dig them.

Just about any of the shoes mentioned in this thread except for the steel toe work boots would be sufficient for an average street rider.

you guys see the video on YouTube where the guy does a wheelie... crashes, and lops off his foot? Def important to have good riding gear.
