Sorry to hear about your shoulder and the bike. What kind of frame sliders were those? They didn't do much so want to know what to avoid.

 

Ouch, that is such a shame. Looking on the positive side, as you said the shoulder should heal and that is the most important thing.

Ah, man! I'm so sorry to hear that, glad that it wasn't worse, and wish you a speedy recovery!

The final straw in my consideration to put my F4i up for sale was low-siding @ 20 mph a little over a month ago. Lot's of scrapes to the right side fairing and my nose fairing, full gear and I still scraped my right knee to the bone and suffered a MASSIVE hematoma to the back of my left thigh. Just now reached the point where everything is close to healed up. Getting older kinda sucks... Lol!

 

I actually didn't have any sliders on it. I know the bike hit the tire of the truck in the other lane (we cold see the clean spot on it) and spun around. We my have cause some of the damage trying to move it off the road to clear traffic or when everything shifted. Eithr way, I don't think sliders would have helped - but you're right, I have seen some cuase more damage than not having them.

 

Glad you're feeling better already! I know during the time of healing it seems to go slow - which always taes long when we get older.

 

Thanks everybody for the well wishes! I actually feel SOOO much better this morning. I was able to put a t-shirt on already by myself instead of having help with button down.

My wife is still deciding if I may have another bike - I'd love to find another F4i but getting one that hasn't been stunted and ruined will be difficult.
I'll keep an update of the insurance process whch has gone pretty good so far - I have full coverage, which in cludes my gear ad up to $3,000 in add ons.

 

You're right, I didn't scroll high enough to realize that the pictures were actually from Al and not on your bike.

That would be a cool ride! Fly to Philly and then spend a few days riding back to DFW! I'd do that. It's only 1500 miles.

 

Dulles would be a lot closer! I'd give a "forum discount" and host an overnight stay in my family room! Lol...
