Repaint
Well thanks to the previous owner both of my side fairings are scratched not bad but noticeable. I repainted my front and tail with spray paint and it came out decent as the colors are really close. Now we just repainted my roommates 636 all flat black and I think it looks sick. Now should I do mine seeing all my fairings need painted besides my tank anyways? what would be better for resale? current condition scratched and mispainted or all flat black that I could just throw color on if needed.
I really like the flat black look, but I think more people prefer the factory scheme. Watch out using spray paint for a glossy finish as it will fade quicker than a nice two stage lacquer, clear coat.
If you do go with the flat black I would paint the the gas tank either red or blue. Then powder coat everything to match the tank. If I had the money, thats what id do.
I actually saw a 600rr on craigslist that was done like that and I loved it.

i think for resale purposes people would stay away from a bike that has been spray painted it might look like your tryin to hide something and you prolly wont get the money out of it that you wanted
are any of the fairings cracked or broken? if not i would get some quotes from paint shops it prolly wouldnt be to much to get them painted. i just got my rear cowl, undertail, and front fender painted and my rear cowl fixed for 50 bucks

I dont have any intentions on selling it as I still owe on it lol but I was just thinking for future reference. If I'm going to have it all repainted then sanding it down and flat blacking it now wouldnt matter and if I decide to sell it I can have it painted and put it for sale with fresh paint

So what's the question again? Sounds like your minds already set on rattlecanning the poor bike. You still owe on it and are willing to spray paint it? Wow. You can get the flat black look with a properly sprayed BC/CC job if you want, just requires a diff kind of clear, and has the durability or a real paintjob. Would prolly be the way I'd go if I was set on the matte look.
Personally, to be completely honest with you, if I went to look at a bike and there was any spray paint on it anywhere, I'd turn around and walk away regardless of price. Someone who's willing to rattlecan a bike isn't someone I'd trust to have taken proper care and maintenance of it, implies alot about it's history. Not that I'm saying that's you, just that thats the automatic assumption most people make when they see spray paint.
