Default Recommended Gas?

Ive been using regular unleaded 87 oct. gas in my bike for the entire summer but my friends use premium which I think here is 93 oct. Just wondering what most other F4i riders use. I understand some people are going to say premium is the only way to go, and others will say its not worth it. I dont ride my bike to its full potential anyways. Also at the engine speed these bikes ride at, wouldnt the excess heat of the higher octane gas be harder on the engine?

I use 91 oct. any lower than that for mine and the motor starts pinging and my mpg goes down.

I always use 92/93. No real reason other than that's what I've always done, and I like to think that my bike prefers top shelf.

The owners manual suggests 87. If thats what the overeducated, overpaid engineers suggest then thats what I'll use.
