same here. after a few days of not riding it jumps up to about 2-5 rpms on a cold start.

The F4i works just like an auto choke...It idles that high if the engine is colder than 110 degrees i think. Dont quote me on that but I think thats about where it levels out.

Dont worry, its normal

cheers for that, it used to be around 2500, but i had the throttle bodies balanced at the dealer not long ago, and it jumped up to 3000, apparently it was low because the throttle bodies were that far out(bought it that way)... so havent been used to it, it returns to normal around 35 degrees celcius.... so must be ok.... though it does make you feel like you are being rushed!!!...thanks for the replies everyone....peace

I'll verify what was already said, to warm the bike faster the auto choke sets it up to about 3 grand until about 100 degrees. You're totally fine.

ya the auto-choke is cool
usually when the bike is cold... (i don't use it for a day)
it will warm up between 2,500-3,000 rpm
and after a ride and I don't use it for like 5 hours and it is below 99F it won't go up more than 2,000
and takes about the same time to reach 130F... the temperature I clutch and 1st gear
