i had the dunlop 207s before. worst tires ever. then i upgraded to the pilot roads which are sport touring they grip very good and i heard from a lot of people averaging about 11k out of them.im using them as a stunt tire but no burnouts. they havent let me down yet. $240 for the set.
I've been reading some stuff on the PP and from what I understand the 2CT are the dual compound, is that correct? If they have the same type of rubber on the outside as the regular PP has then why would anyone get the normal PP because the middle of the tire is harder for longer wear. Am I reading these things correctly? Birthday is this coming Sunday and I'm getting tires I just want to make sure I get the right ones. =)

TIRES #1: 5 year old Michelin Pilot Sports with 11k miles
A tire that old SUCKS = 2 lowsides
The tread lasted the whole 11k - squared off but not fully worn!
TIRES #2: Metzeler Sportec M3
Excellent grip. Havent slipped yet even a bit. They last 25% longer than M1's while preserving grip. Dual compound.
Only ~1k miles on them, no visible wear yet. they have a nice explanation on their website.

M1 - old bike - great handling, good grip - bit expensive - 4 stars
207s - no more - good if you only going in a straight line, kind of slippery on a hard turn - 3 stars
208s - currently in use - all around good tire, nothing spectacular - 4 stars

I did a search for Tire Info, this was a great thread!!
I got Dunlop 220 on my bike, 8000 miles and recently just got a nail in the rear tire. Looking to replace them. I don't really have the experience to rate my tires, but I think they are pretty old compared to ones talked about on this thread. Which leads me to my next question.
I still in my first year of riding, I'm not an expert in taking corners extra hard yet. I'm looking for good street tires, that will last but be good for someone willing to push the bike and learn it's limits. I do ride my bike to work as often as I can. When the days are nice I take a longer route which has some nice 25-35 mph curves, that I can take at about 55 mph, but that is about how much I've pushed the bike. I don't plan on doing any track time in the near future. I sure you can't have the best of everything, dry grip, wet grip, handling, durability, comfort, price. I like how Michelin did their website with actual numbers.

Tire #1
Pirelli dragon supercorsa pro's: i love this tire. Came stock on my 675, picked up take offs for use as my track tire on the F4i. Great tire, my favorite thing being the profile. like the 2ct, it's a very aggressive oval profile, which drops you into a lean very quick. But, it's got better feedback than the PP's and has decent tread life (3.5 trackdays on my current set and there's still tons of tread, though they're beginning to fall off due to heat cycles). My 675 put ~4300 miles on a set of SCP before they needed replacement.
Tire #2
Metzeler M1: These tires didn't work out for me. Didn't like the way they felt, and despite their reputation as a tire w/ long life, these didn't last very long for me at all. it might have been related to tire pressure, but in the end, i just didn't like em.
Tire #3
Michelin Pilot Powers: I liked these tires, and they got good wear and were a good performer, but they're also a little dead on feedback at the limit. I never really had an issue with the on/off slipping phenomenon that plagues these tires, but plenty of people do. Still, for the price, they're great and wouldn't hesitate to use them again if my supply of cheap supercorsas dries up.
there are more, but these are the 3 i think are worthy of mention.

charlos...you baller with them dragons!?!?!?!?
try the diablos, will give you better feedback than the pp.
gsusfrk...head over to the diablo line...i think the stradas will work good for you. if you're ok with only getting 5K miles then go with diablos.

Hey Tahoe, I was thinking of trying Pirelli out, what's the difference between the normal Diablo, Strada, and Corsa? Strade high mileage? Diablo not so high mileage, but sticky? And Corsa, well Corsa III dual compound?
