Default RE: Ram Mount / Garmin Zumo Install

RAM-B-342U is the part number but like I said for an F4i be prepared to purchase an additional rubber plug from a hardware store. The rubber piece needs to expand to fit inside the stem hole and I actually got a rubber plug that was a bit softer than the rubber it comes with so it just barily expanded OVER the included washer that will fit into the stem hole. once the rubber expanded over the washer I was able to really torque the nut so that the ram mount won't go anywhere. The ram mount is in there solid enough to rock the bike back and forth and it doesn't budge.

http://www.ram-mount.com/zumo/alternative_mounting.htm (note that the picture of the ram mount is a cad drawing, what you get is not quite the same)

hope this helps!

assuming you get the proper ram-mount connectors I don't see why not. There are other ram-mount applications that hold up laptops so I don't see why a camera would pose any problem

check out www.ram-mount.com for all the different components

I use the upper tank mounting bolts and the Standard RAM mount (drilled out larger as mentioned above). It doesn't interfere with a tank bag, just tilt the extension forward. I had to go this route as the stem mount wasn't available at the time I bought my Zumo, but now that I have it, I like my Zumo in the fixed position.

Awesome for finding fuel stops when out riding.
Can you list out the part #'s you used in this pic? I find some on their site but I'm not sure if they are the same parts needed or not.

I bought them at cyclegadgets.com, the image link are following. It is the RAM compact mount (black), and the RAM Standard Arm (3" version). I also use the RAM locking ****, it is big, but I find it useful to ease my mind should I go in a convenient store for something. The 1 1/2" version that comes with the Zumo will work as well, the 3" just puts it in view better, less looking down with your head.

http://www.cyclegadgets.com/Images/RAM-COMP.jpg you have to drill the holes in the mount out to 5/16" to allow the tank bolts thread in nice and straight.

This is the product page that they are listed on.

I like the fork stem mount. Touratech ran out of them. Got any other sources?
