RE: rain question
uh, people actually ride in the rain?
Seriously, are you just worried about it getting wet? Now storms, lightening, falling debris, etc. are a different story.
I mean I wouldn't leave it out in the rain for days or anything... but like for an hour or two it wouldn't be big deal.

RE: rain question
Should be, as long as your bike is in good shape. Should be no problem, except for it getting dirty . I would check the lubrication of your chain though if you have done so recently. I've riden in the rain numerous times and my bike has sat at my office in the pouring rain and it had no problems. I didn't even dry it off.
Be safe.
Be safe.

RE: rain question
I know that up here in the Pacific Northwet it is just a fact of life. My bike has been out in the rain, I ride in the rain about 70% of the time, and I have had no issues. I go through a lot of chain lube and car detergent. No harm no foul. My bike doesn't alway's look the best, but I would rather get some use out of it than let it sit in a garage forever and a day. That and my new GF likes to ride with me no matter what, rain or shine.

RE: rain question
Yea the rain shouldn't be an issue if you've got a well maintained machine. You certainly shouldn't have a problem with the tach unless you've got a crack in the lense. Even then it is protected pretty well by the windscreen and front fairing.
This past Sunday I was camping and the skies opened up at 5:00 AM - didn't have any way to shelter the bike so it sat in the downpour for a good 3 or 4 hours. It stopped raining around 9 so I got up and got out of there. Unfortunately thunderstorms don't travel as fast as my bike does so I got to ride in that same storm for another hour or so! But the bike ran fine all day long...
Side note: Anyone ever notice the look on people's faces when you're passing them at 80 mph in the rain while there in a nice, warm, dry car and you're drenched on two wheels? I couldn't figure out if they were wondering how crazy I was or if they were just laughing at me
