Default Radiator Fan Blowing Fuse

Hi all,

So i currently have to ride around with rad fan unplugged because plugging it in blows my 20a fuse. Literally just setting the kill switch to on and turning the key blows the fuse. Is the fan messed up or do you think theres a short somewhere. The fuse does not blow when i leave it unplugged. All ideas welcome!

thank you!

Certainly sounds like a short. Blue/Black to Green should be at least 2 ohms, if less, disconnect the fan switch from the frame and retest - it should now be open circuit, if so then suspect the motor, if not then you have a short, probably in the Blue/Black.

BTW, according to the wiring diagram, fuse E for the fan should be 10A.

It was an open circuit whether the switch was connected or not, I measured the resistance through the switch to the black and blue wires and got back 3 ohms. Also bike keeps frying the stators. It also heats the green wire up enough to melt the connection in the switch that enables the lights to come on. And the label on the fuse covering lists the fan fuse to be 20A, could it be a cover from a different bike?
